"The name Burnitude stands for a mix between the eternal burning flame of ambition and love
for what we do and stand for, and the main ingredient in this and: fuckin' attitude!" - PM

Today Burnitude is a 3-piece band with PM on vocals and guitars, Vesa on drums and Moey on bass, but the band was started inStockholm, West-side, somewhere in 1998 by PM and Matte Norman (vocals/screams) shortly after their former band Risky Riot split up. The intention from the beginning was to do only exactly what and as they wanted, what felt right and was straight ahead, totally honest, no bullshit, and this is still what Burnitude's mainly about. They spent the first years searching and trying out lots and lots of bass players and drummers but just couldn't find the right ones, with the right flow, ideals, attitude etc, so they decided to continue as a duo and hired in the rest of the band temporarily as needed, mainly for gigs.

In late 2000 Matte (Norman) decided to take his stuff and move the hell out of Stockholm way up north (and we're talking way up here!) for a bit quieter life, where he's still lurking these days, and even though they thought they could keep on rocking discarding the distance… well, it never really works in reality so…
(It should be mentioned that Matte's decision was the only way at the time and in a health-point-of-view it was a good decision for both of them, probably saved their lives (at least for now), there was a lot of heavy partying going on around the band at the time.)

Anyway, PM decided to continue without his partner in crime (Matte will always be a Burner and an important member of the Burnitude-family), thinking what they'd created was too good to just let go, to let be forgotten into nothing and decided to perform all the vocals himself, which wasn't that far from the early Burnitude-days since PM already back then performed about half of the vocals anyway. Then he had always felt that if it wasn't going to be Matte behind the mic, it wasn't going to be anyone else, but then rather start a new band or something, his attitude just couldn't be replaced and the vibe the two Burnituders had built for Burnitude would be lost, and we wouldn't want that, would we? So, PM was going for a 3-piece band and started once again to look for and audition musicians to complete the lineup and finally after lots and lots (again) of problems and shit it finally clicked with Vesa and then very soon afterwards with Moey who both well completed Burnitude.

The Burnitude-material may be described as a kick-ass blend of metal and punk with the heart and soul deep in the 1970-80s heavy metal. It has the kick-ass action and attitude of punk, some classic rock riffs mixed with 80s metal riffing spiced with virtuously performed and heavily improvised parts, strong melodies and clever lyrics trying to say something mixed with not too serious "comic-strip"-type of stories written with the twinkle in the eye. Most importantly Burnitude is a kick-ass-100%-high-octane-action-party-live-band, and off course nothing goes up to the real thing: listen to the material, and if you get a chance, check Burnitude out live on stage - you won't be disappointed.
